Hej! I had an excellent first time in Copenhagen, Denmark, and was even able to fit in a couple quick side stops to Sweden and London. Looking back on these pictures makes me so happy.
DayS 1 & 2
Overall, this was a very type B, low planning, embracing the hygge life kind of trip with my sister, and it was really nice to spend some quality time together. We walked by the water and ate excellent brunches (we were really into BMOs = bolle med ost, or a bun with cheese and butter). We visited the Danish Resistance Museum and also biked around the city. I learned the hard way that returning your bike rental to a designated return area and locking it is NOT equivalent to ending your rental T.T

DAYs 3 & 4
We got up early for pastries at Juno the Bakery, shopped around Indre By, ate a hot dog by Rundetaarn (The Round Tower), and took a boat tour from Nyhavn. We also did a walking tour with a conservator where we learned about Copenhagen’s coat of arms and how it’s hidden in the details of the city’s architecture. One of my favorite memories was a home cooked meal with some of my sister’s friends featuring fiskefrikadeller (Danish fish cakes) and koldskål (Danish cold buttermilk soup).

Days 5 & 6 (Malmö, Sweden)
Weather took a gloomy turn the last two days we were together. We did a day trip to Malmö, Sweden (just a quick train ride over from Denmark), and mostly stayed inside shopping for souvenirs and reading in a cafe. We packed in a few more touristy things like getting a chicken sandwich from Poulette (featured in The Bear, and also recommended by Dua Lipa), visited the cemetery where Hans Christian Andersen and other notable figures are buried, and also climbed up to the top of Rundetaarn and looked over all the spires that had been catching my eye over the trip.

DAY 7 (London)
Just a quick stop/long layover in London, but I still managed to spot the wild green parakeets during a morning stroll through Kensington Gardens. I also realized this was the first time I was in London whilst Wimbledon was going on. And while I didn’t have time to catch any tennis (also why would I since no Carlos), I did see Tommy Paul pick up his Yonex bag from my flight’s carousel at JFK!

Fun trip 🙂 Gotta plan another one soon.
