Did you know that I used to live here? 🙂 Feels like two lifetimes ago. I was in town for my friends’ wedding and did a nostalgia tour of all my favorite places (Murraci’s, Philz, Hayes Valley, Souvla, K Tea, Tuna Kahuna) when I used to live in the Bay. I also zipped around town in a Waymo! It was super cool trying it out for the first time, and it makes me never want to uber again haha.
SF is truly a beautiful city with an almost mystical quality to it. Maybe it was just a slightly hazy day, but I feel like the sun shines differently in Cali than it does back home. As I was wandering around while the sun was setting, I wish I had gotten a chance to live in a different neighborhood besides SoMa before moving out to the burbs.
I also visited Sunnyvale and Burlingame, where I lived for the majority of my time in the Bay Area, and realized I did not miss living there at all lol. I’m too used to city life now. Overall such a pleasant trip, but it did confirm for me that I made the right choice moving back when I did. NY or nowhere 🙂
